Interferential therapy uses two medium frequency currents that intersect in the tissue, producing a low frequency beat where they cross. Because the carrier frequency is higher, skin impedance is lower and the current is generally more comfortable at depth than TENS. TENS applies low frequency current directly through surface electrodes and is widely used for pain management, including in portable units patients take home.

A combination unit puts several modalities in one machine so a department does not need separate devices. Our range covers IFT with TENS (LCS-151), IFT with TENS and muscle stimulation (LCS-152S), IFT with TENS and ultrasound (LCS-153S), and all four together in the LCS-154S. Choosing a combination unit is usually about treatment room space and budget against how often each modality is actually used.

The S models carry the fuller feature set - more preset and user-definable programmes and additional therapy modes. The ECO models deliver the same core therapy at a lower price point with a reduced feature set. Both are built on the same platform. Channel count decides how many independent treatment areas you can drive at once. Two channels covers most single-patient treatment. Four channels lets you treat a larger area, or use different settings on two sites, without a second machine. If you routinely treat back-to-back, channels are usually a better investment than a second lower-specification unit.

Units are supplied with the electrodes and patient leads needed to start treating. Electrodes and cables are consumables and wear with use - a failing lead usually presents as a machine fault, so most departments keep a tested spare.
